Ethical Weddings at the National Wedding Show
It was lovely to meet so many brides and grooms in person at the National Wedding Show last month - a warm welcome to all of you who signed up to this newsletter at the show!
While a rather hectic 3 days, it was a great chance to chat to couples about how they can get green and ethical elements into their wedding plans. It was also good to speak with other wedding suppliers, a number of whom were quite excited about the idea of offering services for a more ethical celebration.
Promisingly, there was a slight green tinge to the presentations this year with brides being urged to choose seasonal local flowers over flown-in blooms... it's a start anyway!

Wedding planner giveaway!
A big thank you to Sally Steele Weddings who have sent us a copy of their DIY wedding planning DVD to review.
Well who better to review it, we thought, than one of our couples in the midst of ethical wedding planning?
If you fancy the chance to road test it for us, just drop us an email to info@ethicalweddings.com to say:
- why you think it might be useful for your planning
- what your thoughts are on using a professional ethical wedding planner - whether you already are, whether it's something you've considered or if it wouldn't even occur to you
And of course, we'll want to know how it worked for you after the big day! We'll reveal the lucky recipient next month.
Brides like you
One of our most prolific bloggers, Jenny, got married over the Easter weekend - congratulations Jenny! While she's off enjoying her honeymoon, why not catch up on all her wedding planning posts?
We're also thrilled to welcome 2 new blogger brides on board. Laura runs Ecoescape (so the honeymoon shouldn't be a problem!) and is planning her green wedding for June 2009 - read Laura's profile.
Diar is based in Indonesia and is already struggling to get friends and family to understand her desire for an ethical wedding. Please show her your support - read Diar's profile.
It's great to share wedding stories, tips and ideas online but if you're interested in meeting with other likeminded brides - or grooms - in your area face-to-face, let us know as we're keen to start setting up 'bride groups' (open to better name suggestions...) where you can swap wedding planning tales or even tiaras in person!
Signing off...
Well we seem to have waffled on quite enough for this month so we'll leave you to get back to your wedding planning! See you in April...
Take care,
Katie & Jamie
