Honeymoon heaven
Welcome to our summer newsletter - as our minds turn to holidays and honeymoons!
Plenty of couples spend more time dreaming about their honeymoon than planning the wedding itself and it is a very special time - to be on your own, just the two of you, after all the (often manic!) build up to the wedding.
To help you keep dreaming, we're extending our competition to win a copy of the excellent Ecoscape to track down that green honeymoon in the UK.
For the chance to win, just send us your thoughts on the Ethical Weddings website (what you like, what you don't, what you'd like to see) and/or send this newsletter on to a friend in the throes of planning their wedding!
And if we've got you in the mood for honeymoon hunting, why not browse responsibletravel.com's seductive selection both at home and abroad.
The BBC needs you!
The BBC is looking for a UK-based couple who are getting married before the end of 2008 to appear in a well-established fun loving and practical prime time magazine show on BBC2. They say:
"We would like to find a couple who are holding a green wedding before the end of the year and who would like to help us convince a member of the public that going green is best. We would like to be able to feature pictures from your wedding in the programme to show how beautiful a green wedding can be."
It should be fun! If you are interested please contact Mark Wheeler.
Our June featured suppliers
Last month we found out what tickled the tastebuds of two of our ethical wedding caterers whose names do exactly what it says on the tin!
Veg-Out are vegetarian caterers based in Sussex who, as committed vegetarians themselves, love being able to say 'yes, we can do that' to couples looking for original and interesting veggie options.
Meanwhile, Vincent of organic caterers, Organic Buffet based in Berkshire, credits his French roots for his passion for natural, organic food.
Next up we had the sweet smell of a seasonal bouquet with Sweet Loving Flowers who gained their gardening skills at the Centre for Alternative Technology!
And finally, the US-based designer, Morgan Boszilkov, talks about her inspiration behind the creation of her stylish sustainable wedding gowns for eco-chic brides.
Ethical Weddings on the catwalk
On Sunday 20 July, Ethical Weddings along with EcoChic (Fair Trade) and The Ethical Stylist are organising an ethical fashion show at the Horsham EcoFair.
With names such as People Tree, Adila, Ciel and Enamore striding down the catwalk, as well as a bridalwear finale featuring Motasem and Wholly Jo's, it should be well worth a visit - and it would be great to meet you!
But if we don't see you there, have a great summer... and a fantastic wedding if you're tying the knot between now and our next newsletter!
Happy planning,
Katie & Jamie
