Changes on the horizon

Dear firstname,

This Autumn will be an exciting one for Ecoescape. We're not only re-designing the website, but we'll soon be launching a brand new service promoting eco-learning holidays.

Changes on the horizon also include an increase in fees (please read the article below) from 2010 for existing members.

Feedback is important to us, so if you have any views or news you'd like to share please get in touch.

Warm wishes

Laura Greenman
Director

Membership fee and update

As of 1 October 2009, our membership fee is £69 per year. We have made the decision to increase the fee to cover our costs. We don't make a profit from the fees, but they help to cover some administration costs. We'll not be charging existing members the higher fee until 2010, providing that payment is made on time.

Ecoescape has enjoyed steady growth since its launch in 2007. We've been featured in numerous national articles and even named as one of the Independent's top 50 websites this year! We've also secured a number of corporate partnerships which are bringing even more value to our members.

We've always been open to feedback and would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to those who have provided us with useful suggestions, comments and encouragement. We want to make sure we offer our members added value and create new opportunities to both find new customers and improve their environmental performance.

This Autumn, we will be working on a new version of our website, making lots of improvements and spending more money than ever before on search engine optimisation. Together, we're confident that this work will increase our profile and traffic. We'll also be launching a brand new service which will promote eco holiday courses within the new site, which we will tell you more about in due course.

In the meantime, however, we'd love to hear what you think particularly as we make changes to our business and website. So please don't hesitate to get in touch to tell us what's on your mind. Email laura@ecoescape.org or telephone 0845 643 5029.

PURE Digital competition update

PURE Digital competition update

We've now drawn three lucky winners for the PURE Digital Technologies competition, between them winning £3,000 in holiday vouchers. They have chosen three of our member businesses in Cornwall and Northumberland. So far, they've been impressed by the choice on offer, and we're looking forward to helping the remaining competition winners which will be drawn over the next four months.

Left is Thomas in Lancashire winning his £500 voucher and Ecoescape guidebook.

LivingArks introductory offer

LivingArks introductory offer

In our last issue, we told you about a super introductory offer on LivingArks. We had a great response to this, and Drew, the Sales Manager is busy following up all the enquiries.

If you'd like to find out more or speak to Drew contact him using the details below and please quote the code ecoE17:

Just as a reminder, LivingArks are wooden pods which can be erected in your garden, on your farm or just about anywhere you have space and planning permission. They can sleep up to four people, and come with superb eco credentials. The introductory offer is part of LivingArk's aim to launch the pods into the tourism industry, so they'll be snapped up quickly no doubt.

Social enterprise for schools: Create Yourself DVD

Social enterprise for schools: Create Yourself DVD

Recently Ecoescape's founder, Laura Greenman was featured in a groundbreaking DVD about social enterprise called Create Yourself: Create Change. The DVD is aimed at young people to get them inspired by social enterprise and entrepreneurs. We felt very honoured to be a big part of this project and would like to encourage as many people (especially teachers) to use this resource.

You can view a trailer of the DVD at this link, but if you know of any teachers that would be interested in using the materials in their classrooms, please get in touch with the DVD's director, Shivani Mair. Email contact@creativecareerssurgery.com.
