--------------------

Red magazine is looking for a couple going on an eco-chic honeymoon (preferably after an eco-chic wedding since April this year and not later than December) in the UK or Europe.

--------------------

The BBC is looking for a UK-based couple who are getting married before the end of 2008 to appear in a well-established fun loving and practical prime time magazine show on BBC2.

They would like to find a couple who are holding a green wedding before the end of the year and who would like to help them convince a member of the public that going green is best. They would like to be able to feature pictures from your wedding in the programme to show how beautiful a green wedding can be.

--------------------

You & Your Wedding magazine is looking for couples whose best man was actually a woman (could have been a friend of either party as long as they're female) and wondered if any Ethical Weddings couples could help with some case studies who would also be up for supplying pics of themselves on the Big Day!

--------------------

ITV Productions are looking for UK brides getting married in September or October this year and who have chosen to celebrate their day in a way that is a little bit out of the ordinary, whether it's themed, cheap and cheerful, opulent, or perhaps... green!

If you are interested in getting involved, you just need to tell them why your wedding will be so special to you. Doing so could give you the chance to win the honeymoon of your dreams...

Ethical wedding inspiration

Ethical wedding inspiration

With weddings being celebrated left, right and centre at the moment, it's a great time to pick up planning tips from other couples.

To help you do just that, we're thrilled to bring you the wedding story of Marissa-Catherine and Tom who married in London in June.  They were determined to show that an ethical wedding could still be a stylish celebration and from the photos, it looks like they pulled it off with aplomb!

Read all about Marissa-Catherine and Tom's ethical wedding and keep checking our real ethical wedding section as we have more real wedding stories coming in the next couple of weeks.

Wedding planning diaries

If you want to hear from someone who's still at the planning stages, check out the updates from environmental journalist and ethical bride-to-be, Sarah Lewis.

Sarah has been struggling to balance the demands of family and their notion of what a wedding should be with her own and her fiancé's desire for a rather different kind of wedding.

Share her pain in her post 'Parents, insanity and not a lot about the environment...' and discuss family wedding dilemmas in our forum.

If you've been inspired by these stories and want to share your own, whether as a record of the day or as a 'wedding diary' while you plan, get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!

Featured suppliers...

As always, we've had a great bunch of featured suppliers gracing our homepage since our last update.

Gift lists were the order of the day with the wonderful Natural Collection - winner of numerous Observer Ethical Awards and other such honours since they started back in 1999 - offering everything from organic bed linen to energy-saving gadgets and fair trade home furnishings to set up your marital nest in sustainable style.  Natural Collection also has a huge sale at the moment with brilliant buys down to as little as £1!

Give It, the charity gift list, followed for the couple who has everything they need and wants to give something back.  Couples can choose from a range of charities to support those with a cause closest to their hearts.

It's taking place on 19 October at Low Farm in Norristhorpe and should be loads of fun so Yorkshire brides, put that date in your diary now!

Wedding email invite etiquette

With email being used more and more these days to communicate everything from an engagement to a new baby, is there anything wrong with sending out your invites by email?

If you're planning an ethical wedding, you'll probably be thinking about recycled stationery, but have you perhaps been toying with the idea of no paper invites at all?

Read what our blogger brides had to say on the subject and give us your own thoughts on email v. paper invites in the Ethical Weddings Forum.

Wedding fun at the EcoFair

Wedding fun at the EcoFair

In our last newsletter we told you about our plans for an eco chic fashion show at the Sussex EcoFair in July - so we thought it only fair that we share a few pics with you!

Featuring fair trade, recycled, vintage and charity shop finds, the show went down a storm with a packed audience and lots of cheering!

The glam green evening and bridalwear section provided a fitting finale, showing to great effect dresses from Wholly Jo's (I'm wearing that one!) and Motasem.  Read all about it and see more pics.

We have a winner!

Thank you to all of you who sent in your thoughts on our Ethical Weddings website.

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the wonderful Ecoscape green UK holiday guide (written by our very own blogger bride, Laura Burgess) is...long unfeasible pause a la X-Factor et al... Karen Gorenstein!

Karen said: "Having moved to the UK 2 months [ago], I've found your newsletter very helpful. Its listing of resources and venues are wonderful. I really think that's the strong point of your concept. I also enjoy reading the personal stories."

Karen, a copy of the book will be on its way to you very shortly so you can get ecoescaping - or perhaps planning that green honeymoon?

So long, farewell...

Until next time, be happy, keep well, and keep in touch!

Take care,

Katie & Jamie
